Burglaries Reported In Avondale, Bucktown, Logan Square

A burglar has been prying open the front doors of homes in the 14th District, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — Police are warning North Side residents of a string of burglaries in Avondale, Bucktown and Logan Square. A burglar has been prying open the front doors of homes, police warned. The suspect then goes into garages and steals bicycles, according to police.

The burglaries happened in the following locations:

  • 2600 block of W. Belmont on June 19 between 4:30 and 5 a.m.
  • 1900 block of N. Fairfield on June 22 at 10:30 p.m.
  • 2700 block of W. Armitage on July 1 at 8:20 a.m.
  • 1900 block of N. Fairfield on July 2 at 5:20 a.m.
  • 1800 block of N. Milwaukee between 9:55 and 10:06 p.m.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-8 white man between 25 and 50 years old, weighing 160 pounds, police said. He was wearing a dark top, jeans and a baseball cap.
