Chicago Blackhawk Moves to Roscoe Village
A former Anaheim Ducks player who signed with the Chicago Blackhawks over the summer is about to settle in nearby.

A Chicago Blackhawks defenseman has reportedly decided to settle in nearby.
Sheldon Brookbank and his wife paid $1 million for a four-bedroom Roscoe Village home, according to a Chicago Tribune story, which didn't note a more specific location.

Features in the 4,200-square-foot, all-brick house include 3 1/2 baths, three wood-burning fireplaces, cherry floors and a custom cherry staircase, a finished lower level with a wet bar, and a kitchen with oak cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel Thermador appliances and an island with a breakfast bar.
"It's a great house, and they got a really nice value on it," said Curt Ratcliff of @Properties. "They like the neighborhood."

Brookbank, who previously played for the Anaheim Ducks, was signed this past summer to a two-year deal with the Hawks. Since then, he's had plenty of time to house hunt.
The National Hockey League announced last week the cancellation of the 2012-13 regular-season schedule through Dec. 30, according to the league's website.
"The cancellations are necessary due to the absence of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players' Association and the NHL," it says.
A total of 526 regular-season games—42.8 percent of the season—were scheduled for October 11 through December 30.
