Chili Cook-off To Raise Funds For Common Pantry
Chili lovers will gather on the North Side Jan. 27 to vote for their favorite dishes.

CHICAGO — Chefs from around the world know that creating the perfect bowl of chili takes more than just a few peppers, some meat and a can of beans — the most masterfully-created dishes can have dozens of special ingredients. Contestants will gather to create their best chili dishes at the annual Lincoln Square Chili Cook Off Jan. 27 at Dovetail Brewery.
The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the brewery at 1800 W Belle Plaine Ave.
There will be a $15 entry fee for tasting and voting. All proceeds will benefit The Common Pantry, an organization that provides emergency food and personal items to about 1,000 people per month in Chicago.

Contestants are hoping to "de-throne" last year's cookoff winner, Jeffrey Tabels, organizers said.
