Final 'Music in the Park' to Serenade Crowd at Montrose Green Wednesday

It's the third and final performance of the summer, with classical violinists playing in the almost 90-degree heat.

The National Weather Service predicts Chicago will see temperatures of almost 90 degrees Wednesday, meaning it's the perfect summer night to wind down in North Center to classical music.

Organized by the Northcenter Neighborhood Association, Music in the Garden brings local talent to the area’s community garden at 1819 W. Montrose Ave. Residents can sit amongst the nearly 140 garden plots, relax and listen to live music.

Last on the list of summer musicians are Dan Strba and his wife Marcia Sterling. The duo is set to perform on Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Strba is a violinist of the Houston Symphony, and Sterling is both a vocalist and violinist of The Best Little Klezmer Band in Texas.

Both are veterans of Music in the Garden after performing last year, with their credits including the Chicago Symphony, the Frank Sinatra Orchestra and the U.S. Army Chamber Orchestra used for White House State functions.

Guests are advised bring their own chair. The ground is gravel and metal, not suitable for blanket seating or picnicking.
