Lane Tech Principal Leaves CPS for Deerfield

Kathryn Anderson received a 3-year contract from a school district in the north suburbs.

Deerfield, IL—The principal of Lane Tech College Prep is moving to the suburbs to become the new head of Deerfield High School.

Kathryn Anderson was named the new principal of of the Deerfield school by the Township High School District 113 board Monday, June 6. The board approved Anderson's three-year contract, which is effective July 1, at a special meeting. 

Anderson had been the principal at Lane Tech, a public four-year magnet school in Chicago, since September. At Deerfield, she takes over for Christopher Dignam, who was named D113 superintendent in February. His first day in that new role is June 17.

“We were incredibly impressed with Ms. Anderson’s outstanding background in curriculum and instruction, as well as her collaborative, student-centered approach towards leadership in a high-performing high school,” board President Annette Lidawer stated in a district press release.
