Kite String Cantina To Open In Roscoe Village

A new cocktail bar that serves taquitos is set to open next week in the former Bangers & Lace building on the North Side.

CHICAGO, IL — A new cocktail bar is coming to the former Bangers & Lace space in Roscoe Village next week. Kite String Cantina will open Monday at 1851 W. Addison St., the Footman Hospitality Group announced. The new bar will feature a $5 bubbler cocktail happy hour, an assortment of draft beer options and classic taquitos with house-made tortillas and dipping sauce.

"Named after the idea of the string that once connected the moon to the earth, Kite String wants to give you just that: a little taste of comfort and transcendence through great beer, bubbler cocktails and gourmet taquitos," the bar's website read. "From husband and wife team, Andrew and Renee Ragin, in partnership with the Footman Hospitality Group, Kite String is a cozy neighborhood spot to hang out and unwind."

The Footman Hospitality Group closed Bangers & Lace in July of 2017 for reconcepting, and according to Chicago Eater, multiple concepts have struggled in the space.
