Kite String Cantina Opens On North Side

A new cocktail bar officially opened to the public Monday in the former Bangers & Lace spot in Roscoe Village.

CHICAGO, IL — The new bar and eatery Kite String Cantina opened its doors Monday at 1851 W. Addison St., the Footman Hospitality Group announced. The cocktail bar features a $5 bubbler cocktail happy hour, an assortment of draft beer options and classic taquitos with house-made tortillas and dipping sauce. Former restaurants have struggled in the space, but Kite String managers Andrew and Renee Ragin, a husband and wife team, said they believe a "cozy neighborhood spot to hang out and unwind" will fit in nicely on the block.

"Named after the idea of the string that once connected the moon to the earth, Kite String wants to give you just that: a little taste of comfort and transcendence through great beer, bubbler cocktails and gourmet taquitos," the Ragins posted on the bar's website.

Kit String Cantina's taquitos will include pork and pineapple, chicken and green mole, three-cheese potato and seasonal veggie options. They will also come with a selection of dips, and corn and beet chips.
