Longtime Lane Tech Football Coach Dies
Sam Bronswick saw success on and off the field for 15 years.

CHICAGO, IL - Longtime former Lane Tech College Prep football coach Sam Bronswick has died, according to a DNAinfo Chicago report. He was 89.
Bronswick led the Indians from 1978 to 1993, winning a city championship in 1985 and taking the team to the state semifinals in 1980 and state quarterfinals in 1989.
Before taking the helm at Lane Tech, Bronswick was an assistant at Foreman and Taft high schools.

He was inducted into the Illinois High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame.
"He had a great eye walking through the hall to find players," Bob Bronswick, his son, said. "He would tell the students to try out and that football could be their ticket to college. He made an impact on same many of their lives."
