Low Line Market Opens, Brings Artisan Treats off Brown Line (PHOTOS)
The grand opening of the new market on Southport was a big success, drawing a sizable crowd to the "L" station.
A crowd gathered beneath the Southport "L" station Thursday for the grand opening of the North Side's new Low Line Market.
Vendors like Penny Pastry and C&D Family Farms sold their more unique, artisan foods compared to a traditional farmers market. There still was, however, fresh produce for people searching for things like asparagus and strawberries.
The event started at 4 p.m. and ended around 8 p.m., and will repeat every Thursday throughout the summer.
