Man Shot Near Hamlin Park Thursday Morning

The man ran past a fire station to a gas station to report the shooting, but no shell casings were found.

A man was shot in North Center Thursday morning, running past a fire station on his to report the crime at a nearby Marathon Gas Station, police told the Chicago Tribune.

The man shot, 31, told police he was shot at the corner of Barry Avenue and Leavitt Street around 2 a.m. when the bullet hit his left arm, the Tribune writes. Police, however, couldn’t find shell casings, signs of blood or other evidence at the intersection.

He was taken to Lake View’s Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and is in stable condition, police told the newspaper.

The shooting was one of seven in Chicago overnight.
