Meatheads Buys Books For Audubon Summer Reading Program
The burger restaurant donated funds so each child at Audubon Elementary School could kick off their summer reading program in style.
Audubon Elementary School started its summer reading program with a book for each student thanks to a donation from a new Roscoe Village burger joint.
Over the summer, students are challenged to read 10 books and write small summaries of each one.
Children celebrated the start of the Audubon Summer Reading Challenge Friday morning at the school, 3500 N. Hoyne Ave.

At the pep rally, almost 600 students received summer reading books that tied into lessons they learn during the school year.
The books were funded by Meatheads, a new burger joint on Western Ave in Roscoe Village. The company prides itself on supporting summer reading programs throughout the Chicago area. More than 100,000 kids have participated in the eatery's Summer Voracius Reading Program over the last three years.
