North Center Home 'Smiles' Down on Neighbors

A local builder and architect is leaving his mark on the Chicago real estate scene, starting with his home neighborhood of North Center.

An under construction North Center home includes four smiling characters crafted out of brick and limestone.

The $1.149 million house is the produce of architect and builder Eric Parfenoff, according to Chicago Magazine. Parfenoff builds primarily within the neighbhorhood, he said.

“I think good design should be like a good person,” he told the publication. “I think it should be friendly, honest, not take itself too seriously, and have a sense of humor. That’s what I pursue in all my design.”
