Northcenter Starbucks Gives Away Free Coffee During Remodel
Worried about a neighborhood in un-caffeinated crisis, the company will have a temporary cafe during the closure in July and August.

Northcenter's Starbucks is getting a makeover, and with that, an exclusive brewing system.
The coffee shop at 4015 N. Lincoln Ave. will close Monday. Renovations are scheduled for completion the week of Aug. 12.
But fear not, caffeine addicts, a temporary cafe will serve free, tall coffees between 6 and 10 a.m. during the closure.

The shop will stay the same size, according to a Starbucks spokesperson, but will have updates to the interior and layout. It'll also feature the company's new Clover Brewing System.
Coffees for the machine are delivered each week from farms all over the world and available only for a limited time, the spokesperson told Patch in an email.

When the company launched its Costa Rica Finca Palmilera roast late last year, a Grande size was $7, and a half-pound bag went for $40.
Using this specialty $11,000 machine, the coffee is vacuum-pressed at a precise temperature for an “amazingly flavorful” cup of joe.
Starbucks purchased the Clover from its inventors, Coffee Equipment Company, in 2008. Clover coffees will be an addition to the café’s traditional list of menu items, with the machine's cofounder Randy Hulett comparing the brews to fine wine.
"For $7, you can get a bad glass of wine," Hulett told Wired Magazine after the 2008 acquisition. "Or you can get one of the best cups of coffee in the world."
