Police Warn Of Attempted Child Abduction In Albany Park

A man tried to lure a child into his car on the city's Northwest Side, police said in a community alert.

CHICAGO — Police are warning of an attempted child luring in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side. A man tried to abduct the child around 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday in the 3400 block of West Irving Park Road, according to police.

The man called the child over to his car and offered a ride, police said. The child refused and ran away while the man continued to urge the kid to get into his car, according to police.

The man was driving a red four-door midsize car, police said.
