Crutches Don't Stop Quigley at Ribfest (PHOTOS)
The North Center congressman tore his hamstring while playing hockey in Washington D.C., but that wasn't enough to keep him away from the biggest event in town.
U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) didn't let a stumble on the ice keep him away from perfectly barbecued ribs over the weekend.
The North Center congressman and North Side native hit Ribfest in crutches after going under the knife in May. Quigley completely tore his right hamstring during a charity hockey game against a crew of lobbyists, he told residents in Lake View Monday night.
Regardless, the recently-crowned "Most YOLO" congressman posed for pictures with Northcenter Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Garrett FitzGerald and the impressive competitive eater—who surprisingly lost the rib-eating competition—Joey Chestnut.
