Watch: 125-Pound Girl Devours Top-Ranked Professional Eater at Ribfest
Miki Sudo ate more ribs than the No. 1-ranked professional eater in a spicy competition.
A 125-pound girl smoked the world’s top-ranked professional eater in a rib-eating contest Friday in Northcenter.
RibMania is held on the Friday evening of Ribfest, Chicago’s meatiest street festival.
It’s the Midwest’s largest professional eating competition and one of only three sanctioned rib-eating events in the nation.

Miki Sudo ate 2.9 pounds of ribs in six minutes, earning her the 2013 trophy and $2,000.
The petite victor beat the No. 1-ranked professional eater in the world, Joey Chestnut. As the winner of five hot dog eating contests, Chestnut was the heavy favorite to win the championship.

But RibMania is more than just guzzling grub. Competitors must have the skills not only to eat mass quantities, but separate meat from bone.
Rub’s Backcountry Smokehouse in Edgewater provided the fuel for the contest, bringing more than 100 pounds of smoked ribs to the stage.
Sudo, originally from Las Vegas, was the No. 7-ranked eater going into RibMania. After entering a pho-eating contest in December 2011, she’s been devouring the competition much to the surprise of long-time eaters.
"I'm new to this. I still don't know what I can do, but I'm having a hell of a time figuring it out," she said on her Facebook page.
