While there’s definitely more to education than standardized test scores, it’s still an important and key indicator about a school and its students’ performance.

SchoolDigger, a website that analyzes school quality across the country, implemented a new ranking system that compares schools based on their average standard test scores and separates them by elementary, middle and high schools.

Here are the top 25 elementary, middle and high schools in Illinois, as well as their average standard test scores, number of students, student-teacher ratio and the percentage of students who qualify for subsidized lunch.

Almost all of these schools are in the suburbs or Chicago. If you don’t see any of your local schools, we provide a link to the full list.
