You can tell a lot about an area by the state of its housing — how big, how old, how many multi-unit buildings and how many single units.
In Illinois, the type of housing varies from county to county. Cook County has primarily multi-unit buildings and a majority of the housing structures were built before 1970. The same can‘t be said of the surrounding collar counties which feature newer, single-unit homes. They also have the biggest homes. But which county has the biggest and newest homes in Illinois?
