50 Arrests Made, Citations Issued In Police Detail
Illinois State Police focused on a portion of I-88 in Oak Brook during the St. Patrick's Day roadside safety check.
OAK BROOK, IL -- The results are in from a roadside safety check that happened over the St. Patrick's Day weekend along Interstate 88 in Oak Brook. The Illinois State Police detail occurred on eastbound Interstate 88 at the Meyers Road Toll Plaza in Oak Brook late on March 16 and early on March 17, authorities said. Officers made the following arrests and cited drivers for the following violations during the roadside safety check:
- DUI arrests: 1
- Other alcohol/drug arrests: 3
- Driver's license offenses: 9 citations
- Insurance offenses: 12 citations
- Registration offenses: 2 citations, 1 warning
- Equipment/other offenses: 7 citations, 8 warnings
- Occupant restraint offenses: 14 citations
- Other criminal arrests: 2 arrests
In total, Illinois State Police cited and arrests 50 motorists during the detail, according to the news release. In addition, there were nine written warnings.
