OAK BROOK, IL --- A 96-year-old woman was rescued by two strangers just moments before an oncoming Metra train collided with her car Monday night. Police say Antoinette Lazzara was disoriented when her car got stuck on the Union Pacific line tracks near St. Charles Road and Grace in Lombard, ABC 7 reports.
The woman was reportedly pulled from her car by a 19-year-old and another man before the Union Pacific train hit.
ABC 7 shared a video of the incident, which was taken by a passenger who had been in the car with one of the men who jumped out to save the woman from the train. Lazzara did not sustain injuries, but was taken to Good Samaritan, where she is in stable condition.
