Bees Take Center Stage At Bee Aware! In Oak Brook

Kids can learn about beekeeping, take part in a scavenger hunt, and more at this fun event.

OAK BROOK, IL — It's National Pollinator Week starting June 18, which means there's a lot of buzz going around about bees. The Oak Brook Park District is celebrating by holding a special event for children and parents called Bee Aware! on July 10 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A beekeeper from the park district will lead the event to answer questions and to teach guests about how beekeeping works. They'll also explain how important pollinators are to the ecosystem as they talk about beekeeping at the Oak Brook Park District.

After kids learn about bees, they can participate in a scavenger hunt and then join their parents to browse for honey made on-site.
