Beloved Oak Brook Business Owner Peter Huizenga Dies
Peter Huizenga, who once owned Waste Management Inc., died Wednesday at the age of 79.

OAK BROOK, IL — A beloved Oak Brook businessman and longtime philanthropist has died. Peter Huizenga, who once owned Waste Managment Inc., died Wednesday at the age of 79, according to Chicago Tribune.
Huizenga, who relocated from Western Springs to Oak Brook in 1984, owned and helped run Waste Management Inc., his family business, until it was sold in 1998. Later, he founded Huizenga Capital Management in Oak Brook.
Huzenga's successful business endeavors helped fuel his lifelong dedication toward philanthropic causes.

Visitation for Huizenga will be held Monday, May 7 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Christ Church of Oak Brook and a memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 8 at 3 p.m. at the same location.
