Woman, 68, Carjacked At Gunpoint At Oakbrook Center Mall: Cops

Police say the victim, 68, was waiting to head into work when she was carjacked at gunpoint.

OAK BROOK, IL — Police are looking for two men who stole a 68-year-old woman's car at gunpoint in the parking lot of Oakbrook Center Mall Wednesday morning During the incident, the woman attempted to salvage her purse from the car, police say, but the suspect chased her and "forcefully" stole the purse before fleeing in her car.

The armed carjacking took place just after 9:30 a.m. as the woman was sitting in her car before work.

Police say the woman was inside her Honda Civic when a white Toyota Camry pulled up and blocked her into the parking space. A man then got out of the passenger's side and came up to the victim's car while displaying a handgun, according to police.
