Comedy for Caregivers Event in Oak Brook for Those Who Help

– The burdens of providing unpaid care to family members and underpaid care in service industries can be overwhelming.

OAK BROOK – The burdens of providing unpaid care to family members and underpaid care in service industries can be overwhelming for the tens of millions who do it every day across the country. An upcoming event aims to provide a little relief to help those who dedicate their lives to helping others.

The Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor, an international community of professionals dedicated to promoting health and wellness through laughter, is inviting all caregivers to its free event Comedy for Caregivers on Friday, April 5, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Oak Brook. This special event is part of AATH’s annual national conference, running April 4-7 in Oak Brook: https://aath-conference.com/.

Paul Osincup, a positive workplace strategist, will emcee the Comedy for Caregivers event where participants can laugh their stress away and re-energize through four inspiring and humorous performances:

  • Guru of Laughter Joyce Saltman of Brooklyn, NY, an expert in learning through humor
  • Cole Thomas of Rochelle, IL, who will share his inspiring tale of surviving a harrowing rollover accident where doctors told him he would never walk again, but nine months later he walked out of rehab
  • Comedy Dance Chicago will share its unique way to spread laughter through dance and movement
  • The Therapy Players, an improvisation troupe from Chicago made up of psychotherapists, will close the show
