Construction on I-88 In Oak Brook Postponed Until Spring
Tollway officials announced via Twitter that the project that was set to begin in February will be delayed until spring.

OAK BROOK, IL — The Illinois Tollway has announced that it will delay planned construction on I-88 near Oak Brook until spring. The project, which was initially set to begin in February, will involve bridge replacement work that will cause closures on parts of I-88 and York Road.
The bulk of the work will be done overnight to minimize impact on traffic, tollway officials said in a news release. Once construction begins, electronic signs will be posted to notify motorists of any lane closures.
This phase of construction, which is part of the I-88 Reconstruction Project, will close a single lane after 7 pm. and an additional lane after 10 pm. Once work begins on the York Road Bridge beams, there may be brief, intermittent construction that will close a portion of I-88 after midnight.
