Improv Playhouse Performs 'Ugly Duckling' In Oak Brook

The musical adaption gives kids the chance to participate in the story of an "ugly" ducking from Lincoln Park Zoo.

OAK BROOK, IL --- Kids will have a chance to see a performance of 'The Ugly Duckling' that features live music and interactive storytelling at Oak Brook Public Library on Wednesday. The 7 p.m. show, which will be performed by members of Improv Playhouse, begins at 7 p.m. and traces the waddling steps of a duckling from the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Actors will use songs, jokes, and ideas from the audience to reimagine the tale of the "ugly" duckling in a way that teaches children about ideas of friendship and belonging. "The Ugly Duckling" performance will also incorporate other animals that kids will recognize from their trips to the zoo.

"The Ugly Duckling" is set to start at 7 p.m. in the Oak Brook Public Library. Registration is required, so call (630) 368-7733 to secure your spot.
