Jaclyn Smith To Appear At Oak Brook Sears Grand Reopening

The grand reopening will feature a DJ, raffle prizes, and celebrity designer Jaclyn Smith.

OAK BROOK, IL — After temporarily closing to scale down and streamline its setup, the Oakbrook Center Sears store will host a grand reopening on Oct. 4 featuring celebrity designer and actress Jaclyn Smith. The event will feature DJ music, product demos, and raffles, in addition to spotlighting the recent changes made at the store.

The Sears store, which once spanned three floors in a 250,000 square foot Oakbrook Center building, closed in September 2017 to begin extensively downsizing. The newly revamped store will occupy one floor and feature an "all-new look," according to a press release.

The grand reopening comes after a year-long series of store closures and layoffs by Sears, which like many other retailers, has worked to scale back operations in the wake of Amazon's continued popularity.
