Oak Brook Board Passes On Police Chief's Plan To Save $92K
"Why not leave it on the agenda and have an open and honest debate in front of the residents of Oak Brook?" one board member argued.

OAK BROOK, IL — Oak Brook's police chief had a plan to save the village $92,000, but it never saw the light of day. The village took Police Chief James Kruger's proposal off their agenda on two occasions, Chicago Tribune reports.
Kruger's proposal involved getting rid of two commander positions and bringing on an additional deputy chief. Village board member Michael Manzo openly supported Kruger's desire to bring the proposal up for debate. Manzo said, "Why not leave it on the agenda and have an open and honest debate in front of the residents of Oak Brook?" according to Chicago Tribune.
Village President Gopal Lalmalani didn't agree with Manzo. Lalmalani said, "I don’t like to bring up something that is half-baked or something that the majority of the trustees are not comfortable with."
