Oak Brook Cops Earn Over $2K Serving Breakfast For Good Cause
Police served breakfast to guests at Blueberry Hill to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois.

OAK BROOK, IL — If you are out for breakfast, you might be taken aback if your pancakes are served by a uniformed police officer. At Blueberry Hill Café on Saturday, though, it seemed like nothing out of the ordinary when a number of guests were served breakfast by Oak Brook's finest.
The officers were working hard to earn their tips because all of the gratuity from the event were donated to the Special Olympics as part of the popular Tip-a-Cop fundraiser. In total, Oak Brook Police Officers earned $2,042.87 that will support the Law Enforcement Torch Run, an annual fundraiser to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics athletes in Illinois.
On March 3, Oak Brook Police will take part in the Polar Plunge at Oak Brook Bath and Tennis Club to further benefit Special Olympians. Participating officers will jump into the ice cold water once an hour for 24 hours, which shows just how dedicated they are to the Law Enforcement Torch Run and the Illinois Special Olympics.
