Oak Brook Officer Issues Dozens Of Handicapped Parking Tickets

The police officer said he has issued several citations at Costco on 22nd Street.

OAK BROOK, IL --- One Oak Brook police officer has issued dozens of tickets to people who have used handicapped stickers illegally. Officer Terry Hill reportedly gave more nearly 90 citations in the last three months to people for parking in a handicapped spot illegally or using someone else's handicapped placard, according to Chicago Tribune.

If a driver parks in a handicapped spot illegally, the fine is $250. The fine is even heftier if you use someone else's placard: it's $600.

Hill told Chicago Tribune that he issues a lot of tickets for both of these violations at Oakbrook Centre and at the Costco on 22nd Street. Hill added that he often waits to confront the driver to see if they are using their spouse's placard and that he gives out the pricier parking tickets roughly 60% of the time.
