Person Threatening To Jump Closes NB Route 83 At 31st
Drivers faced heavy traffic on northbound Route 83 Friday morning due to a person threatening to jump at 31st Street.
OAK BROOK, IL — Northbound Route 83 was backed up from Ogden Avenue to 31st Street Friday morning due to law enforcement trying to help a person threatening to jump at 31st. WLS reported the traffic backup later extended to 55th Street. A Facebook user reported via WLS' page that they had been sitting in traffic for 30 minutes in the west suburb.
Route 83 reopened around 7:20 a.m. after police reported the situation was now cleared.
