Police Warn of Ruse Burglaries In Oak Brook
Police say the scammers use "false pretenses" to enter homes in Oak Brook and commit burglaries.

OAK BROOK, IL — Oak Brook Police have issued a warning to residents regarding burglars who are using "false pretenses" to gain access to homes in the village. They are currently investigating ruse burglary incident involving two male suspects.
Police said in a Tweet that the men arrive in a dark-colored SUV and give a false story to convince homeowners to let them in. Once inside the residence, the suspects attempt to steal cash and other valuables.
According to police, one suspect is a male in his 20s standing roughly 5'8" tall. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap. There was no description available for the other suspect, whom police identified as the driver of the SUV.

Oak Brook Police recently released an image of the suspects' vehicle on Facebook in a plea for the public to stay vigilant and help find the suspects.
Residents are urged to use caution and immediately report any suspicious activity or sightings of the vehicle and/or the suspects to Oak Brook Police at 630-368-8700.
