Woman Saved From Fiery Crash After Car Flips In Oak Brook
The victim was charged with driving under the influence, according to police.
OAK BROOK, IL — Police in Oak Brook gave a 20-year-old woman a second chance at life after they pulled her from a burning car that had flipped over early Friday. Alejandra Trujillo, of Villa Park, was trapped inside the vehicle after it crashed into a barricade near the I-88 and Route 83 and burst into flames around 5:30 a.m., Chicago Tribune reports.
According to Chicago Tribune, police found Trujillo "incoherent and unable to escape the vehicle." She was rushed Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was treated for injuries that were not deemed to be life-threatening. Trujillo was later charged with driving under the influence and using a lane improperly, along with driving without insurance.
After an investigation, police reportedly determined that Trujillo allegedly lost control of her Chevy Impala while driving north on Route 83 and heading onto the eastbound I-88 ramp. She then allegedly hit a light pole before the car flipped and caught on fire.
