94-Year Old Man Dies In Crash Near 167th And Cicero

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the death of James Patton of Tinley Park.

OAK FOREST, IL — A 94-year-old man was killed in a car crash near 167th and Cicero in Oak Forest Monday afternoon. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the death of James Patton of Tinley Park.

Patton was pronounced deceased at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. An official cause and manner of death was not available as of Wednesday morning.

Oak Forest Deputy Police Chief Dominic D'Ambrosio said police responded to a crash involving five cars and that Patton — a passenger in one of the cars — was found unconscious at the scene. Two drivers in cars involved in the crash suffered injuries that are not considered life threatening, D'Ambrosio said.
