Apartment Fire Leaves Family Empty Handed During Holidays

After Christmas, one of our Kerkstra Elementary School families experienced a fire in their home. Their apartment is a total loss and they were able to leave with only the clothes they were wearing.

Forest Ridge School District 142 is reaching out to the community to assist the family during this difficult time. Donations of non-perishable food items, clothing, or gift cards for the family will be accepted at the Kerkstra main office on January 7-8, 2021 from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Clothing items needed include any winter items including hats, coats, gloves, boots, sweatshirts, or sweaters.

Mom - 3X Clothes, Size 10 shoes/boots
8 year old boy - Size 8 clothes , Size 2.5 shoes/boots
3 year old boy - 4T clothes, Size 9 Toddler shoes/boots
