Armed Robbery, Attempted Carjacking Reported In Oak Forest

Oak Forest Police are looking for five men they believe were involved in an armed robbery and attempted carjacking Sunday night.

OAK FOREST, IL — Oak Forest police said a group of five armed men robbed three minors before unsuccessfully trying to steal a car in the 15000 block of Moorings Lane Sunday evening.

According to police, the men approached the three minors showing guns and stole multiple items from them. A man driving south on Moorings Lane interrupted the robbery, and the robbers blocked the road with a black Lincoln SUV, ordering him out of the car at gunpoint. The man drove off, thwarting the carjacking.

Oak Forest Police said the robbers' SUV was later spotted on the Midlothian Turnpike near Ridgeland Avenue. Police attempted to stop the car, but officers lost it at Midlothian and Pulaski.
