Body of Missing Attorney Found Near Forest Preserve Golf Course
Cook County Sheriff's Police have identified the body found Friday afternoon to be Lane Campbell, who was reported missing Feb. 22.
OAK FOREST, IL — The body of a 50-year-old attorney reported missing last month was found just before noon Friday in a forest preserve area near Oak Forest.
Oak Forest police went to 163rd Street and Central Avenue responded to a call of a person on the ground. Officers found a man near the George Dunne Golf Course. The man was deceased, and Cook County Forest Preserve police were notified.
The body has been identified as Northwestern University attorney Lane Campbell, of the 900 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue, Chicago. Campbell was reported missing by Chicago police on Feb. 22.

“[Cook County Sheriff’s Police] are conducting a death investigation,” sheriff’s spokesman Matthew Wahlberg said in an email statement. “There were no indications of foul play, and investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death.”
