Bremen High School Ex-Admin, District Sued over Alleged Sexual Abuse of Teen Girl
The parents of the victim filed the lawsuit late last week.
MIDLOTHIAN, Ill. — Parents of a student who alleges she was sexually abused by a former assistant principal at Bremen High School filed a lawsuit last week against the district and the former administrator.
Joseph A. Simone, a 43-year-old Mokena resident, was accused in January 2016 of inappropriately touching the 16-year-old girl, whom he first called into his office "to discuss physical exercises she could perform to alleviate back pain." He then allegedly touched her buttocks and inner thigh, reportedly also pushing his body against her buttocks. He was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
The eight-count lawsuit accuses both Simone and Bremen High School District 228 of "being willful and wanton, and negligent."
