Bremen HS Material Processing Students Turn Rags to Riches

Students turn raw wood into beautiful chessboards

Bremen High School’s Material Processing students had the opportunity to make beautiful chessboards out of lumber; turning trash to treasure or as some may say, rags to riches! Teacher Jerry Ward’s objective was to show the students how they had the ability to make handcrafted, stunning furniture. All students studied their plan of procedure and worked diligently to produce their best possible product. Students used walnut and maple woods to create their designs. Each board is hand crafted and meticulously put together. The outcome is a beautiful handcrafted chessboard to have for years to come.
