Bremen And Orland Townships Offer Seniors Rides To Get Vaccinated
Both townships are offering seniors rides to the Tinley Park Convention Center at a reduced rate to receive their vaccine.
BREMEN TOWNSHIP, IL — Both Bremen and Orland Township are offering seniors transportation services to the Tinley Park Convention Center to be inoculated, according to the Village of Tinley Park.
Orland Township is providing bus services for its seniors who have already made an appointment for the vaccine, charging $3 for a one way trip, and $6 round-trip, the village said. Usually the center is not included in the Orland Township transportation route, and requires an additional cost. Rides are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday and to get a ride, seniors must call the Orland Township Senior Transportation Department at (708) 403-4222.
According to the village, Bremen Township is offering its Senior Wheels service to its residents who already have a vaccine appointment at the Convention Center. Rides are available from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays - Fridays and incurs a cost of $2 one way and $4 round-trip.

The village said that rides are offered in Sedans and the number of seniors that may ride at one time is limited. It is required that all riders must be from the same household. The village said that those who are handicapped and/or in a wheelchair can use the Bremen Township bus service from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. To reserve a ride, call (708) 687-8220 when your appointment is made.

"If you don't have a computer, email or cell phone, ask someone you trust such as a family member or friend to help you sign up online," the village said. "Have your contact and health information prepared for registration, and take any appointment you get, or you may lose your chance and have to wait!"
