Closures Alert: What's Open, Closed Due To Icy Weather

Oak Forest-area schools and businesses announce closures and cancellations ahead of tonight's predicted freezing rain and icy weather.

OAK FOREST, IL — Freezing rain, snow and ice accumulations in the forecast Tuesday night is prompting area schools and businesses to close.

The National Weather Service Chicago is predicting ice accumulations of up to a quarter-inch by Wednesday morning. Forecasters warn this could create hazardous travel conditions.

  • Cardinal Joseph Bernardin School: Open
  • Southwest Coop. For Spec. Education / Braun Educational Center: No evening classes or meetings.
  • Southwest Cooperative Administrative Offices: No evening classes or meetings.
  • Southwest Cooperative / Project Challenge Site: No evening classes or meetings.
