Country Club Hills GNC To Close As Company Files For Bankruptcy
The Country Club Hills GNC will be one of at least 800 stores to close following the company's announcement it filed for bankruptcy.

COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, IL – The Country Club Hills GNC will be one of at least 800 stores to close following the company's announcement this week that it had filed for bankruptcy.
In a letter to customers, GNC said the coronavirus pandemic "created a situation where we were unable to accomplish our refinancing and the abrupt change in the operating environment had a dramatic negative impact on our business."
The company said it expects to close between 800 and 1,200 stores in the U.S. and Canada, at least 13 of which are in Illinois.

This announcement comes a month after JCPenney, which has 29 Illinois locations, filed for bankruptcy and Pier 1 Imports announced it would be closing all of its stores for good. Earlier this year, Pier 1 announced it. would be closing 16 of its 26 locations in Illinois.
