To The Deli at Jewel and Food For Less in Oak Forest--Listen Up!
I can't wait in line anymore at the Jewel or the Food For Less Deli. Thankfully, I have come up with a plan.

Sandwiches. A nice ham and cheese between some hearty rye with a little bit of mayo, really hits the spot. Sandwiches are the staple of the American lunch, especially for school aged children. What this means for most parents is, we need some lunch meat! This is a gimme as you walk into the local grocery store. What you don't expect is to wait so long at the deli counter that you actually start to sprout gray hair waiting for your number to be called.
We are fortunate to have two big grocery stores in Oak Forest, right across the street from one another, centrally located in the middle of town. Lately, it doesn't matter which grocery store you go to in Oak Forest, you are waiting for your pound of ham.
And I get it, I have to wait. But come on. When I am waiting at the deli longer that it takes me to cook a roast, something is wrong. And it is getting bad over there at the Deli. I thought two old ladies were going to get in a fist fight over a pound a roast beef, it was Angus though, so I figured, it was worth it.

Hey Management, here is just a thought for you. How about you automate the system? I came up with this plan while waiting for about 30 minutes at the Jewel the other day. A customer would check in, put in their order and then pick it up when you are done shopping. Problem solved, crisis avoided. Just some good old common sense in play here.
I figure if the DMV can do, the deli should be able to. I will take my residual check now. Next!
