DUI Suspect Crashed Into 2 Cars On 147th, Fled On Foot: Cops
Midlothian police said the same driver was responsible for crashes at 147th and Knox and 147th and Tripp Wednesday night.
MIDLOTHIAN, IL — An impaired driver crashed into two cars on 147th Street in Midlothian Wednesday night, Midlothian Police Chief Daniel Delaney said. Police were first called to a crash at 147th and Knox Avenue around 7:15 p.m. and found out the car that caused that crash had fled eastbound and moments later crashed into another car at 147th and Tripp Avenue, Delaney wrote in a news release posted on the Midlothian Police Department Facebook page.
After the second crash, Delaney said the driver fled the car on foot headed northbound. The suspect, who was not immediately identified, was found "a short time later" by police officers who responded near the Natalie Creek Trail on Tripp, Delaney said.
The suspect was in custody Wednesday night on possible leaving the scene of an accident and driving under the influence charges, according to Delaney.
