Fire Fighters And Paramedics Wanted For Hire In Oak Forest

OAK FOREST, IL — The City of Oak Forest is currently hiring for firefighters and paramedics.

The Oak Forest Fire Department said the part-time positions will provide 24-hour fire protection, paramedic service and emergency response to the residents and businesses of Oak Forest. The department responds to about 3,700 calls a year from two staffed stations, and is an active member of MABAS 24 in mutual/auto aid responses, according to the department.

According to the city, the current hourly rate is $20, and those chosen would work 12 or 24-hour shifts. To be considered, applicants must have the following certifications/licenses, and attach the appropriate paperwork to the application:

  • Illinois Certified Basic Operations Firefighter or Firefighter II
  • Illinois Licensed Paramedic.
  • Valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) qualification with ladder climb endorsement, within the last 12 months.
