Get Your Pup a Pass to Cook County Forest Preserve's Off-Leash Areas

Memberships for 2016-2017 can be purchased now and allow access to three forested dog-friendly areas.

RIVER FOREST, IL -- Dog owners and their canine companions can now purchase a 2016-2017 off-leash dog area membership to enjoy off-leash play in the Forest Preserves of Cook County. The large, open spaces allow your dog to run and play unrestrained.

Use of an off-leash dog area requires annual membership, which includes one key card to enter any of the Forest Preserves’ Off-Leash Dog Area locations.

Memberships can be purchased online by visiting the Forest Presevers Off-Leash Dog Areas, or by dropping by General Headquarters at 536 N Harlem Ave in River Forest. The 2016-2017 annual membership is valid Oct. 1, 2016, through Sept. 30, 2017. Cook County residents pay $55 per dog annually. The fee for non-residents is $110 per dog.

In addition to an application, all dog owners are required to submit a Veterinarian Health Report. Membership cards and keys will be mailed to applicants after the Veterinarian Health Report has been approved.
