Hazel Crest Doctor Exposed Himself, Fondled Patient, Begged Her Not to Report Him: Police

The 75-year-old doctor was arrested Monday.

HAZEL CREST, IL — A 75-year-old doctor was arrested Monday on accusations he exposed himself to a 51-year-old female patient and touched her inappropriately during an exam.

Dr. Sheldon Levine, whose office is at 17680 S. Kedzie Ave., allegedly fondled her breasts and told her she would need to be aroused for the examination to continue. He also reportedly tried to stop her from leaving and pleaded her with not to report him to police, CBS reports.

The family practice doctor has been charged with misdemeanor battery and public indecency.

"He actually got to the point where she alleged that he actually exposed himself to her during that second examination, which obviously showed her that it was going beyond what it should have been," Hazel Crest Police Chief Mitchell Davis told NBC of the allegations. "If they are in fact true, it is a betrayal of trust.

It wasn't the first complaint of such behavior in Levine's office. In February 2016, a 23-year-old patient reported "aggressive sexual behavior" during an exam, CBS reports. She first insisted on pressing charges but later did not pursue them.
