Home Address Sign Must Be Visible: Oak Forest Fire Department
The reminder is aimed to help assist emergency personnel to respond faster to calls for service.
OAK FOREST, IL — Is your address visible? The Oak Forest Fire Department says it should be, especially in case of an emergency.
In a city news release, the fire department reminded residents just how important it is for an address to be clearly visible from street view, day or night.
"It is one of the easiest actions you can take to keep your family safe," the news release states. "If your home address is tough to see from the street, this can cost first responders valuable minutes when they are responding to an emergency at your home."

The news release suggests that to increase the visibility of a home address, residents may want to include lighting the address numbers on the home, and having a minimum of 6-inch numbers/letters on the house.
