Kellogg's Snacks Recalled for Peanut Residue

ILLINOIS — The Kellogg Co. is recalling several of its snack and cookie products sold under various brand names across the United States and Puerto Rico because they may contain undeclared peanut residue.

Kellogg’s initiated the recall after its supplier, Grain Craft, recalled wheat flour that has the potential to contain low levels of peanut residue, according to a news release.

The affected products are sold under Kellogg’s Keebler, Famous Amos, Special K, Mother’s and Murray brands.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said consumers with severe peanut allergies should avoid the recalled products, but that the amount of residue is so low it shouldn’t cause a problem for most people who are allergic to peanuts.

No one has been sickened, Kellogg’s said, adding the recall was issued “out of an abundance of caution.”
