Lockport Man Fights the Law After High-Speed Chase; Guess Who Won
Matthew Miller is accused of punching an Oak Forest police officer in the stomach after fleeing cops by car and on foot.

In what must have looked like a re-enactment of a random scene from the Fast and Furious movie franchise, a Lockport man took Oak Forest police on a high-speed car chase that ended in a crash, according to a Sun-Times Media report.

And that’s before he got into more trouble fleeing on foot and punching a cop.
Matthew Miller, 23, of the 100 block of South Avenue, was charged with multiple violations, including two counts of battery, three counts of resisting arrest, drunken driving, speeding more than 40 mph above the limit, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and driving without no insurance, the report stated. Miller also faces a charge of improper lane use, the report added,

The chase began when Oak Forest police tried to pull Miller over for driving 86 mph in a 45-mph zone and running a red light July 28, the report stated. Pursuit changed from car to foot after Miller crashed his car near 147th Street and Oak Park Avenue, the report stated. Once cornered, Miller slugged an officer in the stomach before he was finally cuffed, the report stated.
